Jiro Ono, Japan's Living National Treasure

We write today about 85 year old Jiro Ono an award winning sushi chef from Japan. Although I'm not sure that "award winning" alone does him justice. People journey from all over the world just to eat at his restaurant, Sukiyabashi Jiro, and by restaurant we mean a small 10 seat sushi bar in a Tokyo subway station. In order to eat their you must make reservations a year in advance because of the high demand .

Whats special and cool about Jiro Ono? Other than the facts listed above, he is considered the greatest sushi chef in the world. The Japenese government considers him a national treasure for what he has done for Japanese cuisine. At 85 years old, with all of his impressive titles and accomplishments he still feels like he has much more to achieve.

"I'll continue to climb, trying to reach the top...But no one knows where the top is!"-quote from Jiro Ono in the upcoming documentary "Jiro Dreams of Sushi"
